Why should I get LP Broadband services?
LP Broadband services provide you with the most reliable, affordable, fastest Internet access available in the areas we serve. We provide an "always-on", high-speed connection so you can access the Internet and send email faster and more efficiently than with a dial-up connection. LP Broadband services are up to 200 times faster than traditional dial-up service.
What does LP Broadband have to do to deliver high-speed Internet service to me?
LP Broadband installs a small radio on your roof. There's a picture of one on our home page. We then run a single wire from a service module into your house or business to your router or PC. The service module and wire are professionally installed and often hardly visible.
Why does LP Broadband sometimes use a dish for their service?
You may notice that some of our customers end up with dishes behind their subscriber modules. Why do we do this? We strive to provide each customer with the best service possible, and to provide our service to as many people as possible. We actually try to serve every customer with just a subscriber module (a dish costs us more). Sometimes it is not possible to get the best possible signal from the closet access point, due to trees or terrain. But we may be able to get a good signal from a different access point. Some of our access points are strategically placed at a much higher elevation and these have the capability to deliver service up to 10 miles away. In most situations, these strategic access points provide a suitable option to deliver the best quality service if the nearest access point can't. LP Broadband covers the extra cost of the dish - there is no extra cost to the subscriber. With our strategy, people living in rural areas, who without us would be unlikely to ever receive high-speed Internet service, will receive the same high quality service as people living in town. LP Broadband chose this coverage strategy with the subscriber in mind. With this strategy the likelihood of getting the highest possible speed and quality of service is greatly improved.
How fast are LP Broadband services?
LP Broadband provides services to meet the needs of all customers. In its standard services, you can get speeds up to 200 times faster than traditional dial-up service. LP Broadband also provides custom configurations that enable higher levels of performance if you need it.
Does LP Broadband guarantee the speeds for its services?
No one can guarantee Internet service speeds. This is because there many variables that affect Internet performance, most of which are beyond the control of your Internet service provider. Connection speeds can vary due to Internet congestion, speed or age of your PC, or other factors beyond our control. However, we assure you that we do everything we can to optimize your performance on our network. For example, one of the major disadvantages of cable Internet service is the fact that your performance is very dependent on the number of subscribers in your neighborhood. Your LP Broadband service is set up as a singular link to an access point, which lets us optimize those things we can control, like user aggregation to our Internet uplink capacity. This and other factors are optimized to ensure the most consistent and reliable performance can be maintained, regardless of the number of subscribers appear in your neighborhood.
Do I have to sign a 1-year term contract to get broadband service from LP Broadband?
No. We believe you will be so pleased with our service, that you will continue service without an annual contract.
How quickly will I get LP Broadband's high-speed Internet service after I place my order?
LP Broadband is committed to getting you up and running as soon as your order is placed. Typical installations are completed within 1 week after your initial inquiry.
Am I still obligated to pay anything if LP Broadband cannot deliver service to me?
No. If for any reason we are not able to provide you with our service, you will not be asked to pay anything - no penalties, no fees - not even the installation fee. We are committed to delivering our high-speed Internet service to as many locations as possible. We often ask questions and use sophisticated tools to determine in advance if we have a high confidence in our delivery. But even so, there are sometimes unpredictable circumstances and reasons beyond anyone's control that prevent our successful delivery. We would like the opportunity to try again in the future.
I contacted LPBroadband or another broadband service provider a year or so ago and service was not available at my location.
